Steve Williams, Blogmaster of "The Georgia Road Geek"
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia (yes, a native Georgian), and have lived in the Atlanta and North Georgia area for most of my life.

Since childhood, I have always had a fascination with roads, roadmaps, roadsigns, and anything else road-related.

In late 1997, I discovered that there were many folks like me who had a fondness for roads and discovered that I, too, was a "roadgeek".

My first road-related website was "The Unofficial Georgia Highways Web Page", which I supported from 1997 through 2002.

In October, 2005, inspired by my brother-in-law Lib's blog, I decided to create my own road-related blog, thus "The Georgia Road Geek" was born. In July, 2006, I purchased additional webspace on GoDaddy.com and expanded my website to include a video series called "ROADGEEK-CAM!!!", special feature pages, and the occasional podcast.

Besides roads, my other interests include Toastmasters, Lions Club, visiting historic sites, coffee cup collecting, and amateur (ham) radio.

My favorite shows include "American Dad",  "Dirty Jobs", "Family Guy", "Futureweapons", "Mail Call", "Made In America", "Mythbusters", "MI-5", "Modern Marvels", and "The Simpsons".

My favorite movies are "The Blues Brothers", "The Cannonball Run (first one)", "Smokey and the Bandit (the first one)", "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World", and "Office Space".

Musically, I prefer classic rock (including, but not limited to, Allman Brothers, Boston, and Lynyrd Skynyrd) and classic country (as opposed to today's so-called country).

I am married to Mary (my best friend in the whole world) and we, plus our "4-legged children" (cats), make our home in the northern suburbs of Metro Atlanta.
